We are delighted to announce that all hirers of facilities at Eridge Village Hall – clubs, societies, teachers, private hirers – will be able to check availability and book online. We hope this will be available before Christmas 2019 – check back soon.
Following extensive refurbishment over a period of five years, local MP Nus Ghani performed the opening ceremony at Eridge Village Hall on Saturday 25 July 2015.
The refurbishment completely modernised the hall, with the final stage of renovations bringing new toilet and baby changing facilities. It is now a state-of-the-art facility, supporting the community by serving as a venue for weddings, yoga, parties, musical performances and other events.
Locals, including representatives from local government, came together to celebrate the rebirth of the facility. The event featured afternoon tea, bubble-blowing and even a bouncy castle for those so inclined. Nus said:
“It was a real pleasure to be with the people of Eridge, who demonstrated the very best of community spirit by coming together to celebrate the reopening of the village hall. This facility is a wonderful expression of what it means to be a rural community.
“I congratulate all the volunteers who have been so central to the renovation project. I would particularly like to thank the Big Lottery Fund, Wealden District Council, Frant Parish Council and Rotherfield Parish Council for helping to fund the project, and Dr Stephen Hall for kindly inviting me along on behalf of the Village Hall Committee.”
